Kylian Mbappé demands 260M euros from PSG
The case involving the salary and contract dispute between Kylian Mbappé and PSG, which began after his free transfer to Spain’s Real Madrid in the summer of 2024, has started at the Paris Labor Court.
The 26-year-old football star is demanding more than 260 million euros from his former club on 10 different grounds, including unfair termination (44.6 million euros) and unpaid signing bonuses (40.4 million euros). PSG, which had remained silent until now, has responded by demanding 440 million euros from its former captain, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.
Mbappé’s lawyers described PSG’s claim as “an unprecedented amount” and stated that the player trusts the justice system of his country.
PSG accuses its former player of hiding his decision not to renew his contract for about 11 months between July 2022 and June 2023, preventing the club from earning a profitable transfer fee. The club argues that, under the agreement reached in the summer of 2023, Mbappé should have given up certain amounts he was due at the end of his contract if he left on a free transfer. Mbappé and those around him deny the existence of such a verbal agreement.
The court is expected to announce its ruling on December 16.
