Barcelona coach comments on Rashford’s finishing and impact
Marcus Rashford scored for Barcelona in their 3-1 victory over Elche, but Hansi Flick emphasized that the English forward could make better use of his chances.
Rashford, who is on loan from Manchester United, scored his sixth goal of the season, sealing the final score and lifting the Blaugrana to second place in LaLiga with 25 points, five behind Real Madrid, CE Report quotes ANA-MPA.
“When you see the chances he has, I think he could have scored another one or two goals, which would be good for him as well,” Flick said. “I know he can perform at this level, and I’m happy that he’s showing it. He’s a very important player for the team and the fans.”
The 28-year-old Rashford acknowledged that there is room for improvement in his decision-making on the pitch.
“I always try to do the right thing. Even today, I could have had more assists or goals; sometimes the decision to shoot or pass wasn’t correct,” the English international told Spanish media.
“There will be days like that. The important thing is the team, and today we won. If I do the right things, I know the goals and assists will come — my focus is on connecting with the team and feeling comfortable in the game.”
