Frenkie de Jong delighted Barcelona fans
Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong has extended his contract with FC Barcelona until 2029.
The signing was made official in the presence of club president Joan Laporta, his friends and family, and members of the club’s Sports Commission, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
De Jong, who joined Barcelona in the summer of 2019 from Ajax, has become a key figure in the Blaugrana midfield despite the numerous managerial changes over the years.
Under the leadership of Hansi Flick, and after recovering from an injury, the 28-year-old has become an undisputed starter. In the 2024/25 season, he made 46 appearances and scored two goals.
With two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, and two Spanish Super Cups to his name, De Jong is considered a vital part of Barcelona’s sporting project for the coming years.
