Icardi’s former roommate shares unusual story from Barcelona youth days

Sergi Gomez, former teammate and roommate of Mauro Icardi in Barcelona’s youth team, shared an unusual story from the time when the Argentine striker was part of the “La Masia” academy, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

In an interview for the podcast “Post United,” the 33-year-old defender said:

“One day he invited me to the park. As soon as we arrived, he showed me a pigeon in a pond. He took a stone and hit it with a slingshot he had made the day before, hitting the pigeon. The pigeon fell from about 20-30 meters high, and when we returned to La Masia, Mauro plucked its feathers, cooked it, and ate it in front of me.”

Gomez added that they played together for three or four seasons and at the time he thought:

“If this was the beginning, who knows what I could expect after this.”
