Bulgaria Takes Double Gold in Gymnastics

Bulgaria’s national women’s team claimed gold at the Aesthetic Group Gymnastics World Cup held June 26–29 in Larissa, Greece. Scoring a total of 56.350 points across two routines, this marked their first international competition of the year under coach Kristina Tasheva, CE Report quotes BTA

The team—Karina Neykova, Siyana Tabakova, Hristiana Kovacheva, Viktoria Berova, Yana Staykova, Maria Mehlemova, Sibila Karpacheva, and Katrin Taseva—outperformed Finnish teams Minetit (54.550 pts) and Gloria (53.900 pts), who finished second and third, respectively.

Bulgaria's junior national team also secured gold with 55.800 points, ahead of Finland’s Minetit Junior and OVO Junior. The squad included Linoy Georgieva, Daria Nacheva, Zhaklin Naydenova, Andrea Hristova, Andrea Sarafova, Dalia Ivanova, and Nikol Zlatkova.

In total, 32 senior and junior teams participated in the event. Both Bulgarian teams had also won gold at the Balkan Games earlier in Larissa.
