Kosovo’s Olympic Star Takes Global Judo Role

Sports

Nora Gjakova, the pride of Kosovar sports, has written another new chapter in her extraordinary history - this time not with gold medals, but with international representation and influence, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Olympic champion, world and European medalist, Nora is now officially a member of the International Judo Federation (IJF) Athletes' Commission - an elite body that shapes the future of this sport on a global scale.

The IJF has recognized not only her sporting achievements, but also her wisdom, dedication and influence on and off the mat. Her new role is essential: to be the voice of judokas from around the world, to push for fair policies and to contribute to the development of judo with vision and integrity.

This is a historic step for Kosovo as well - for the first time an athlete from our country becomes part of the decision-making process in such a large international organization.
