North Macedonia, Canada seek to expand political, economic cooperation

On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia Timcho Mucunski met with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand in New York.

In a year marking 30 years of diplomatic relations, the two officials reaffirmed the solid foundation of the North Macedonia-Canada partnership and their shared interest in further deepening bilateral ties, CE Report informs via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of North Macedonia's official website.

The importance of the sizeable Macedonian community in Canada was also highlighted, with the community serving as an important bridge and adding further value to relations between the two countries.

The meeting also focused on advancing political and economic cooperation, with particular emphasis on opportunities to increase and diversify bilateral trade.

The two ministers reaffirmed their close cooperation and mutual support within multilateral organisations, particularly the United Nations and NATO, as well as their shared commitment to stability and international security.
