A $1 coin featuring a portrait of U.S. President Donald Trump has been minted in the United States to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the country’s independence.

According to The Hill, the U.S. Mint released the one-dollar coins featuring Trump’s portrait on the market yesterday, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

Trump’s portrait appears in the center of one side of the $1 coin, with the word “LIBERTY” at the top and the dates “1776-2026” at the bottom, marking the year the country declared independence and its 250th anniversary.

The coin also bears the inscription “IN GOD WE TRUST” to the right of Trump’s portrait. It sold out within hours of being released.

Meanwhile, according to the BBC, this is the first time in a century that the portrait of a living president has appeared on U.S. currency.

The gold-colored, but not gold-containing, $1 coins were offered for sale in packs of 25 for $61 and packs of 100 for $154.50.
