
China confirms Kim’s visit for 80th anniversary celebrations
China has announced that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will take part in the military parade in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II, CE Report quotes ANSA.
The news was confirmed by Hong Lei, assistant to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press conference presenting the event, which will be held on September 3.
Almost simultaneously, KCNA, the official news agency of Pyongyang, reported that Kim will soon travel to China “at the invitation of President Xi Jinping” to attend the grand military parade in Tiananmen Square.
