Trump Denies Report on US Attack Plans Against Iran
Former President Donald Trump strongly rejected claims that he approved US military plans to join Israel’s attacks on Iran. “The Wall Street Journal has No Idea what my thoughts are concerning Iran!” he wrote Thursday on Truth Social, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency
The statement followed a Wall Street Journal report alleging Trump had signed off on attack plans targeting Iran’s nuclear program, but had not given a final order. The report cited unnamed officials and claimed Trump was using the threat of US involvement to pressure Iran into abandoning its nuclear ambitions.
Speaking Wednesday, Trump said he hadn’t yet decided whether to authorize military action, emphasizing he wasn’t seeking war but would act if necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. “I have ideas as to what to do. I like to make a final decision one second before it’s due,” he added.
Tensions have escalated sharply since Israel began strikes on Iranian targets last Friday. Israel reports 24 deaths and hundreds injured from Iranian retaliation, while Iranian sources say 585 have died in Israeli attacks, with over 1,300 wounded.
