President Maia Sandu will host Romanian President Nicușor Dan in Chișinău on 10 June during his first official visit to Moldova, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The welcome ceremony is scheduled for 13:40, followed by a joint press conference at 15:10.

“This visit reconfirms the deep and special nature of the bilateral relations – built on historical, cultural and linguistic ties – and reflects the shared commitment to strengthen and expand cooperation for the benefit of citizens on both banks of the Prut River,” the Moldovan Presidency stated.

Dan, who earlier expressed a desire for Moldova to be his first international destination as president, emphasized the symbolic importance of the visit. He noted Romania’s support for Moldova’s European integration and offered to share Romania’s pre-accession experience.

“Moldova’s main objective now is EU integration. Romania must support this goal diplomatically and operationally,” Dan said, highlighting energy cooperation as a key success.

In the recent Romanian presidential elections, over 158,000 Moldovan-based Romanians voted, with Dan receiving 88% of their support.
