Polish Jets Intercept Russian Aircraft

Politics

On Thursday evening, at NATO's request, Polish fighter jets successfully intercepted and deterred a Russian SU-24 aircraft, Poland's Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz announced Friday in Cracow, CE Report quotes PAP

The interception, part of standard NATO air policing procedures, involved establishing contact with the foreign aircraft and guiding it away from NATO-monitored airspace.

This incident follows a series of similar interceptions in the Baltic region, where NATO's Baltic Air Policing mission—operating from Poland, Lithuania, and Estonia—monitors Russian air activity to ensure regional security.
