The Trump administration has instructed federal agencies to prepare for large-scale layoffs as part of a government reorganization effort, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

A memo from White House Budget Director Russell Vought and Acting Office of Personnel Management Director Charles Ezell calls for significant workforce reductions, citing inefficiency and excessive costs. The first phase, due by March 13, will focus on initial staffing cuts and budget reductions, with further layoffs and potential relocations planned for April.

NBC News reports that thousands of probationary employees have already been dismissed, with agencies reviewing staff roles. Tech billionaire Elon Musk, leading an unofficial cost-cutting initiative, required employees to justify their positions via email, with non-responders facing termination.

At a Cabinet meeting Wednesday, Trump backed the effort, stating those who failed to reply are "on the bubble." The full reorganization is set for completion by September.
