Moldova Condemns Repeated Airspace Violations by Russian Drones

Politics

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) of Moldova has expressed deep concern and strongly condemned the repeated violations of its national airspace by drones launched during Russian attacks on Ukraine’s southern infrastructure, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

In response, the MAE has urgently summoned the Russian ambassador to Chisinau, demanding official explanations and lodging a firm protest against these actions. The ministry emphasized that such incidents pose a serious threat to citizens' security and regional stability.

“These violations of Moldova’s airspace are unacceptable and cannot be tolerated,” the MAE stated, reaffirming the country’s stance against threats to its sovereignty. The ministry also called for an immediate end to such aggressions and strict adherence to international law.

On the night of February 12-13, Moldova’s Border Police reported multiple drone crossings, with two crashing and exploding in uninhabited areas—one near Ciumai, Taraclia district, and another about 1.5 kilometers from Ceadîr-Lunga and Valea Perjei. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
