Romanian Presidential Elections Begin Overseas in New Zealand

The second round of Romania's presidential elections commenced overseas on Friday in Auckland, New Zealand, at 12:00 PM local time (1:00 AM Romanian time). Polling stations in Australia, Japan, and other countries in the region are set to open next, CE Report quotes Agerpres

Overseas voting spans three days, running from Friday, December 6, to Sunday, December 8. On Friday, polls are open from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM local time, while on Saturday and Sunday, voting hours are 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with potential extensions until 11:59 PM on Sunday for those in line.

All Romanian citizens with valid Romanian-issued identification can vote at any of the 950 polling stations set up abroad. A full list of stations is available online at www.mae.ro.

In this decisive second round, voters will choose between independent candidate Calin Georgescu and Elena Lasconi of the USR party, the top two contenders from the first round.
