Kazakh Embassy Opens in Skopje to Deepen Bilateral Cooperation

A ceremony was held in Skopje on Friday to open the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of North Macedonia, marking 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Skopje and Astana, CE Report quotes MIA.

In his address at the event, Kazakh Ambassador Satybaldy Burshakov pointed out that the opening of the Embassy is a historic moment in the relations between the two countries.

"We are witnessing a historic moment in the development of relations between North Macedonia and Kazakhstan, as we mark 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. The past year has been filled with activities and I can say that we have achieved joint results. This event is a significant step towards strengthening the ties between our countries," said Burshakov.

He noted that cooperation is deepening in several sectors, including energy, health and technology.

As part of the activities, he also mentioned meetings with President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, Minister of Energy Sanja Bozhinovska and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, as well as initiatives for regional cooperation with the cities of Kumanovo and Karaganda.

"Our shared history, since both countries gained independence in 1991, has laid a strong foundation for a partnership that we continue to build today. We are convinced that new horizons are opening before us and that joint initiatives will continue to strengthen our relations," the Ambassador added.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski welcomed Kazakhstan's decision to open the Embassy in Skopje, noting that it is a "friendly and positive step."

"In recent years, we have witnessed the progress of our political dialogue, the advancement of economic cooperation, as well as the strengthening of international support. The opening of a resident Embassy is a clear expression of the commitment of both countries to strengthen communication, regardless of geographical differences," said Mucunski.

Diplomatic representatives and guests from the public and private sectors also attended the event.
