The social project “Romania in Light” will begin on Monday, with the first event—held at the Cotroceni Palace—dedicated to the National Day of Prematurely Born Children.

It is organized by the Romanian Association for Long-Hospitalized Newborns (ARNIS), in partnership with the Presidential Administration and the Ministry of Health, with the involvement of Mirabela Grădinaru, the life partner of President Nicușor Dan, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

“Romania in Light,” a social initiative, aims to bring public attention to fundamental issues regarding the health, education, and well-being of children, youth, women, and vulnerable groups in society, the Presidential Administration announced.

“This initiative is intended to create a framework for dialogue between public authorities, non-governmental organizations, and the community, in order to identify together concrete and sustainable solutions,” the cited source stated.

The first event in this series is dedicated to the National Day of Prematurely Born Children. On this occasion, a roundtable will be organized to create an intersectoral partnership aimed at guaranteeing the rights to life, health, and development for at-risk newborns. Participants include the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, presidential adviser Diana Iancu, state adviser Diana Punga, Associate Professor Dr. Cătălin Gabriel Cîrstoveanu, president of the Neonatology Commission of the Ministry of Health, representatives of the World Health Organization, members of parliament from specialized committees, medical professionals, as well as Mirabela Grădinaru, herself the mother of two premature children.

Later, the Cotroceni Palace will be illuminated in purple, a symbol of solidarity and hope for premature children and their families.
