Serbia posts strong wage growth in January-May 2026

In Serbia, average gross salaries and wages calculated for May 2026 amounted to 163 470 RSD, while average net salaries and wages amounted to 118 398 RSD.

Increase of gross salaries and wages, in the period January-May 2026, relative to the same period last year amounted to 11.1% in nominal terms, i.e 8.0% in real terms, while average net salaries and wages increased by 11.3% in nominal terms, i.e 8.2% in real terms.

Compared with the same month last year, average gross salaries and wages for May 2026 increased by 9.8% in nominal terms and by 6.1% in real terms, while average net salaries and wages increased by 9.9% in nominal terms, i.e 6.2% in real terms, CE Report informs via the Statistical Office of Serbia's official website.

Median net salaries and wages for May 2026 amounted to 93 277 RSD, meaning that 50% of employees realised wages and salaries up to the mentioned amount.
