Moldova Boosts Business Grants
The Moldovan government will allocate an additional 100 million lei from the Budget +PLUS program to enhance grant funding managed by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA). These funds, part of a larger €1.9 billion EU aid package, aim to support business development through non-refundable financial assistance, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
Deputy Director of ODA, Nina Potinga, told MOLDPRES that the new funds will help expand support to more entrepreneurs across the country, particularly in rural areas, focusing on business modernization, digitalization, and job creation.
In total, 200 million lei from Budget +PLUS will be used to strengthen entrepreneurship and industrial infrastructure. Besides the 100 million lei allocated to ODA, 85 million lei will boost the Credit Guarantee Fund, facilitating SME access to financing, while 15 million lei will go toward developing Multifunctional Industrial Platforms.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization emphasized that this move underlines both Moldova's and the EU’s commitment to economic growth and private sector development.
Since early 2025, ODA has awarded over 139 million lei in grants to 354 companies, generating nearly 289 million lei in investments. The Budget +PLUS initiative, launched by Prime Minister Dorin Recean in April, is the largest economic package in Moldova’s history, totaling 8 billion lei.
