The Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) announced its support on Saturday for Bulgaria's full membership in the euro area, calling it a key commitment as part of the country's EU obligations. The Forum emphasized that adopting the euro would enhance Bulgaria’s international image, attract investment, and improve citizens’ quality of life, CE Report quotes BTA

BBLF also criticized President Rumen Radev’s proposal for a referendum on the euro, calling it “legally inadmissible” and a source of unnecessary concern for citizens and international partners. The Forum urged unified efforts to accelerate Bulgaria's accession to the eurozone.

President Radev announced Friday that he would submit to Parliament a referendum proposal asking citizens if they support adopting the euro in 2026, sparking significant political debate.
