Bulgarian universities make 2025 Times Higher Education rankings

Five Bulgarian universities have made it in the latest World University Rankings by Times Higher Education. St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, Medical University of Sofia, Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, Technical University of Sofia, and Trakia University in Stara Zagora are all placed in the 1501+ category, without specifying their exact ranking, CE Report quotes BTA.

The latest rankings of the world's top universities include 2,191 higher education institutions from 115 countries and territories.

For the tenth consecutive year, the rankings are topped by the University of Oxford in the UK. Next are Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Princeton University in the United States. The University of Cambridge in the UK ranks third as well.

Times Higher Education has been ranking universities across the globe every year since 2004. Research-intensive universities are judged across all their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. Eighteen performance indicators are used to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons, trusted by students, academics, university leaders, industry and governments.
