Deputy PM Atanas Zafirov said the vote was an attempt to delay Bulgaria’s European integration. GERB-UDF called the vote a “waste of time,” while CC leader Assen Vassilev indicated future no-confidence votes would be decided individually after Bulgaria joins the eurozone. MRF-New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski urged lawmakers to focus on their duties until the next scheduled elections.
Velichie leader Ivelin Mihaylov accused the government of being controlled by Peevski and announced plans for a fourth no-confidence vote over environmental policy, supported by Vazrazhdane and MECh, expected to be debated next week.
