Ukraine and Russia Agree on Prisoner Exchange

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced in Vilnius that Moscow and Kyiv have agreed on a new prisoner exchange. The agreement was reached during a meeting in Istanbul's Ciragan Palace, with documents exchanged through Türkiye. Zelenskyy said preparations are underway for the release, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov added that discussions also covered a ceasefire and the release of abducted children, but only the prisoner swap has been finalized for now. Further details are expected soon.

The Istanbul meeting follows a previous round of talks in May that led to the largest prisoner exchange of the conflict, now in its fourth year. Türkiye, maintaining close ties with both countries, continues to mediate for peace.
