Eugen Doga International Airport from Chisinau marked a milestone for air transport in the Republic of Moldova today, welcoming its 6,000,000th passenger in 2025. The event was celebrated at a special ceremony, attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea.

The anniversary passenger arrived in Chisinau on a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Chisinau and was symbolically awarded by the airport administration and the institution's partners, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

According to authorities, reaching this milestone reflects a 47% increase in passenger traffic compared to 2024, setting a new all-time record for civil aviation in the Republic of Moldova.

Bolea emphasized the importance of this achievement for citizens' mobility and the country's economic development.

"Reaching the 6 million passenger milestone confirms that investments made in recent years in airport infrastructure yield tangible results. We are talking about a more modern, more connected, and more attractive airport for airlines and passengers. It is clear evidence that the Republic of Moldova is increasingly well integrated into regional and European transport networks," said Vladimir Bolea.

The constant increase in air traffic is attributed to the modernization of airport infrastructure, expansion of the destination network, and strengthened cooperation with international airline operators, factors that have contributed to enhancing the attractiveness of Eugen Doga International Airport from Chisinau.

As reported by CE Report, through these developments, the airport is consolidating its role as the main air hub of the Republic of Moldova, with a direct impact on citizen mobility, tourism, business environment, and the national economy's connection to foreign markets.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development congratulated the airport administration, airlines, and all civil aviation specialists for their contribution to developing safe, efficient, and passenger-oriented air transport.
