SpaceX Dragon capsule brings four astronauts back to Earth

Four astronauts returned to Earth after spending approximately eight months aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

They travelled in a SpaceX Dragon capsule for more than 27 hours before splashing down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California, the French news agency AFP reported, CE Report quotes STA.

“We are very excited to be back on Earth after an incredible mission aboard the International Space Station,” said American astronaut Jessica Meir, the mission commander.

The four-member crew returning from the ISS also included American Jack Hathaway, French astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Russian cosmonaut Andrei Fedyaev.

During the mission, Adenot became the first French female astronaut to conduct a spacewalk outside the space station. She completed three spacewalks, on August 18 and 25 and September 1, AFP reported.

A new four-member astronaut crew arrived at the ISS last week and is expected to remain in orbit for approximately six months.
