The San Antonio team, currently in second place in the Western Conference with a 60–19 record (wins–losses), is facing a major problem after their star player, Victor Wembanyama, missed the second half of the game against Philadelphia.

San Antonio won 115–102, and the MVP candidate left the court after 16 minutes and 17 points due to a left rib injury, CE Report quotes MIA.

Injury expert Jeff Stotts noted that this type of injury could result in a four-day absence, but he emphasized that such injuries are difficult to diagnose with an X-ray, so the player will undergo additional examinations.

San Antonio has three more regular-season games remaining, and Wembanyama must play in at least one game (minimum 20 minutes) to meet the 65-game requirement and remain eligible for individual season awards.

Currently, the Frenchman is one of the top contenders for the MVP award, an All-Star selection, and the Defensive Player of the Year. He is averaging 24.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 3.1 blocks per game.
