Turkish teams competing in various European basketball competitions have reached the top of their tournaments.

In the EuroLeague, Fenerbahçe Beko maintained its top position by defeating the Greek team Panathinaikos, coached by the national team head coach Ergin Ataman, 85-83 with a last-second basket, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

In the previous weeks, the yellow-blue team recorded 20 wins and 7 losses in 27 games. Under the leadership of Sarunas Jasikevicius, they won their 7th consecutive match, continuing their winning streak and keeping their spot at the top.

Beşiktaş GAİN tops BKT Europe Cup

The Turkish wave also blew in the BKT Europe Cup with Beşiktaş GAİN.

The black-and-white team finished 18 games with 13 wins and 5 losses. In their last match, they beat the Greek team Panionios 114-74 away, finishing first in Group B.

With 1,666 points, Beşiktaş GAİN became the top scorer of the group and directly advanced to the quarterfinals.

Bahçeşehir Koleji finished second in Group A, also qualifying for the last 8 teams.

Galatasaray MCT technic maintains double leadership

In the Basketball Champions League, Galatasaray MCT Technic holds the top spot in two different groups.

In the regular season, they finished first in the 4-team E Group with 5 wins and 1 loss. In the round of 16, they also lead their group.

In the 4-team I Group, Galatasaray won 3 of 4 matches, defeating the second-place French team Le Mans Sarthe Basket 94-81 away, continuing their strong run.

Turkish women's teams also at the top

Fenerbahçe Opet and Galatasaray Çağdaş Faktoring women’s teams dominate their European competitions.

Both teams won all 6 matches in the first 4-team group stage of the FIBA Women’s EuroLeague, with Galatasaray leading Group B and Fenerbahçe leading Group C unbeaten.

In the second stage, they maintained their top positions in 6-team groups. Galatasaray had 10 wins and 2 losses in 12 games, while Fenerbahçe won 11 games and lost once.

Both Turkish teams secured a place in the Final Six and earned the right to play in the semi-final play-in. Galatasaray will face France’s Basket Landes, and Fenerbahçe will face Spain’s Spar Girona to advance.
