The North Macedonian champions secured a convincing victory against Podgorica, returning to a positive record in the regional competition after seven rounds, which puts them in a favorable position.

The home team played three excellent quarters, slightly spoiling the overall impression only in the final period of the game against the team from Montenegro’s capital, played tonight at the Jane Sandanski Sports Center, CE Report informs via the Basketball Federation of North Macedonia official website.

Those 30 near-perfect minutes, especially on the defensive end, were more than enough to deliver the desired result — a double-digit victory that moved the blue-and-whites closer to the playoff positions.

To fully confirm that progress, they will need another strong performance, ideally a win in their upcoming away match in Široki, scheduled for March 3.

As never before this season, the “Metals” showed maximum commitment on defense.

Further proof of that came from the fact that they allowed only 20 points to Podgorica in the first half, or just 33 points after three quarters (while scoring 54 themselves).

In the final quarter, the visitors only partially reduced the margin of defeat, as the Macedonian champions delivered a performance that gives reason to believe they can go much further than their current 4–3 record in the regional league.

On offense, most of the work was done by Tanasković, who recorded 14 points and 13 rebounds (eight offensive), V. Stojanovski, who added 13 points, six assists and three rebounds, and McKaden, who had 11 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
