Venus Williams marries famous Italian actor

Seven-time Grand Slam champion, American tennis player Venus Williams (45), has married Italian actor Andrea Preti, officially legalizing their marriage with a second wedding ceremony held in Palm Beach, Florida.

The first wedding took place in September in Italy, but since Venus Williams is not an Italian citizen, the couple had to wait eight months for the official marriage documents.

As a result, they decided to hold a second wedding, CE Report quotes MIA.

The wedding celebration in Florida lasted six days.

The American tennis star met her future husband at Milan Fashion Week, and they got engaged in January this year in Tuscany.

“After our meetings in London, I knew I was going to marry him,” Venus Williams told Vogue, adding that her sister Serena Williams gifted them a yacht.

“Serena gave us a beautiful yacht and did almost everything needed to organize the wedding. Ten to twelve of our friends and family members gathered on the yacht — we sang, danced, and enjoyed the company that came together,” the American tennis player added.

Venus returned to the tennis courts at the US Open this year after a two-year temporary retirement. At the Grand Slam tournament in New York, she reached the quarterfinals in doubles and also competed in singles, where she ended her run in the first round.
