Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus has been named the WTA Player of the Year for 2025, the Women’s Tennis Association announced.

The other nominees for the award were Iga Świątek of Poland, Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan, and Americans Amanda Anisimova, Madison Keys, and Coco Gauff, CE Report quotes BTA.

Sabalenka finished the 2025 season as world No. 1. During the year, she won four titles, including her second consecutive US Open crown. She was named Player of the Year for the second straight time.

The 27-year-old Sabalenka has held the top spot in the WTA rankings since October 2024. She has won 21 singles titles, including four Grand Slam titles. In addition to the US Open, she has also won the Australian Open twice, in 2023 and 2024.

Czech player Kateřina Siniaková and American Taylor Townsend were named Doubles Team of the Year. Amanda Anisimova won the Breakthrough Player of the Year award, while Belinda Bencic of Switzerland was honored with the Comeback Player of the Year award. Nineteen-year-old Canadian Victoria Mboko received the Newcomer of the Year award.

CE Report reports, Mboko started the year ranked No. 333 in the world and finished it at a career-high No. 18.
