Kenan Yildiz addresses comparisons to Alessandro Del Piero

The Turkish forward, who wears the number 10 shirt for the Bianconeri, spoke about his emotions in an interview for UEFA's official website, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

“At first I thought: ‘Oh God, will I be able to handle this number?’. But then I didn’t think about it anymore. I just wanted to shine and enjoy myself. The number doesn’t play football — I do. That’s why I always try to give my best,” said the 19-year-old.

Yildiz admitted he is motivated by the expectations of the public but added that he doesn’t like comparisons:

“I am myself. I don’t want to be compared to anyone.”

Regarding the upcoming match at the Santiago Bernabéu, he stated:

“It’s fantastic. Every child dreams of playing in that stadium. Now that dream has become a reality. I hope we play a great match.”

Yildiz also addressed comparisons to Alessandro Del Piero:

“It’s an extraordinary feeling to wear the number 10 shirt, but I don’t like being compared to him. He is a legend who has ended his career; I’ve just started and I want to build my own story.”
