Diogo Jota, Liverpool and Portugal striker, dies in car crash in Spain, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Jota (28 years old) and his brother André (26 years old), also a footballer for the Penafiel club, died in the early hours of the morning of July 3, 2025. The accident occurred near Cernadilla, on the A-52 motorway in the province of Zamora, when the vehicle crashed, went off the road and burst into flames.

The accident occurred at around 00:40, and as a result of a flat tire on the vehicle, it lost control and caught fire, KosovaPress reported.

The Portuguese Federation has now responded, confirming the tragic news about Diogo and André Jota.

"We have lost two champions. Their deaths constitute an irreparable loss for Portuguese football. We will do everything to honor their legacy every day."
