Sofia to Host 2026 Football Leagues Summit

The European Leagues will hold its 2026 General Assembly in Sofia, Bulgaria, with representatives from 40 professional football leagues across 34 countries expected to attend. The event, hosted by the Bulgarian Professional Football League (BPFL), ranks as the third most significant global football forum after the FIFA and UEFA congresses, CE Report quotes BTA

The Assembly brings together top-tier leagues such as the Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and Serie A, as well as second and third-tier divisions.

BPFL President Atanas Karaivanov expressed gratitude to the European Leagues leadership, calling the event a major honor for Bulgarian football. The 2025 Assembly was held in Frankfurt, following the 2024 edition in London.
