Jannik Sinner First Italian Finalist Since 1976
Jannik Sinner has qualified for the Roland Garros final.
He defeated Novak Djokovic with a score of 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 after three hours and 17 minutes of play, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Now, the world No.1 from South Tyrol will face the defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz (ATP No. 2), who advanced after Lorenzo Musetti withdrew due to a physical issue.
Sinner is the first Italian to play in the final for the title in almost 50 years: in 1976, Adriano Panatta not only reached the final, but won it.
