Galatasaray Extend Lead at the Top of Turkish Super Lig

Galatasaray secured a 2-1 victory over Goztepe in Istanbul on Saturday, extending their unbeaten run and moving 11 points clear of second-place Fenerbahce, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Victor Osimhen opened the scoring with a penalty in the 10th minute after Kaan Ayhan was fouled in the box. Goztepe equalized in the 27th minute through Brazilian forward Romulo.

The winning goal came in the 61st minute, courtesy of Yunus Akgun’s precise low shot from a tight angle. A header from Lucas Torreira was later disallowed by VAR due to an offside.

With this win, Galatasaray now have 47 points from 17 matches. Goztepe remain fifth with 28 points.

Fenerbahce, currently on 36 points, will face Hatayspor at home on Sunday. Hatayspor are in the relegation zone with nine points.
