Moldova, OSCE address human rights and free movement barriers in Transnistria

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of Moldova Valeriu Chiveri had a meeting with Acting Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Izabela Sylwia Hartmann.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues related to the Transnistrian settlement process and appreciated the role of the OSCE in this process.

The officials also reiterated the difficult human rights situation in the region and the present barriers to free movement on both banks of the Dniester River, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.

The deputy PM stressed the need to resolve the problems faced by citizens, including through a more active involvement of the OSCE, and reconfirmed Chisinau’s openness to a constructive dialogue within the existing interaction platforms with Tiraspol.
