Greece has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring humanitarian aid reaches Gaza, according to diplomatic sources. The country has maintained constant contact with the Palestinian Authority, recognized as the legitimate representative of Palestinians, and recently renewed high-level talks on aid coordination, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

As chair of the UN Security Council in May, Greece has prioritized civilian protection, with Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis set to lead a key discussion on the issue in New York this Thursday.

Despite criticism of UNRWA, Greece continues to support the agency, distinguishing itself from other European nations that have withdrawn backing. At the EU level, Greece spearheaded efforts to provide medical care to wounded Gazan children—11 have already arrived in Greek hospitals, with more to follow.

Greek officials stress that, as a Security Council member, the country addresses the Gaza crisis through institutional channels, co-signing UN and EU statements calling for urgent humanitarian assistance.
