Biden: Trump Risks Breaking U.S.–Europe Alliance

Politics

Trump administration's pressure on Ukraine to cede territory to Russia represents a “modern form of appeasement,” said former U.S. President Joe Biden in an exclusive interview with the BBC — his first since leaving the White House, CE Report quotes ANSA.

According to Biden, Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that Ukraine is part of Russia, and “anyone who thinks he will stop” if given territory as part of a peace deal “is simply a fool.”

Biden also expressed concern over the breakdown of U.S.–Europe relations under Donald Trump’s leadership, which he said “would change the modern history of the world.”
