LGBTQ, Women’s Ordination Advocates Join Synodal Celebration
Some representatives of "We Are Church" will take part in the Jubilee of Synodal Teams at the Vatican at the end of October.
This marks a historic first, as the international movement has long been at odds with the Holy See on many issues — from LGBTQ rights and women’s ordination, to priestly marriage and economic reforms.
The movement was invited to the Vatican by Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary General of the Synod, and will attend from October 24 to 26.
Participants will pass through the Holy Door and, as reported by the Vatican’s own news portal, will also “meet with Pope Leo XIV.”
