Naza tops Italian box office
According to the Cinetel rankings, the documentary film that explores the workings of the Israeli military system in Gaza topped the Italian box office over the weekend, earning €1,219,051. After seven days in theaters, it has reached €3,033,586 and has been seen by nearly 400,000 viewers.
Naza, which won the Jury Prize at the latest Venice Film Festival, was initially scheduled to remain in theaters only from September 28 to 30, CE Report quotes ANSA.
In second place is the survival film Heart of the Beast, starring Brad Pitt, which earned €738,353 in its second weekend, bringing its total earnings since September 24 to €2,134,153.
In third and fourth place are two new releases. The first is Verity, a psychological thriller starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson, which opened with €661,377 after four days in theaters. In fourth place is Digger, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and featuring Tom Cruise in an unusual role, which earned €532,945 in its opening weekend.
Avengers: Endgame Extra dropped from first to fifth place, earning €465,753 and reaching a total of €3,316,280 after two weeks in theaters.
The horror film Resident Evil is in sixth place, with €385,457 over the weekend and total earnings of €3,352,325 since September 17.
It is followed by the animated film L'isola dei ricordi, which earned €202,467 over the weekend and has reached a total of €645,223 since September 24.
Opening in eighth place is La città dei vivi, directed by Edoardo Gabbriellini and inspired by a notorious criminal case that took place in Rome ten years ago. It earned a total of €176,223 over the weekend.
In ninth place, The Invite – Il piacere è tutto nostro, starring Penélope Cruz, remains in the rankings with €162,719 over the weekend and total earnings of €1,593,296 since September 16.
In tenth place is the documentary Linkin Park: Unshatter, dedicated to the musical group, which earned €221,182 over five days.
Total box-office revenue over the weekend amounted to €5,954,715, down 26% compared with the previous weekend.
