TikTok sale allowed under new US-China agreement
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has announced an agreement with China on rare earths and soybeans, CE Report quotes ANSA.
Bessent added that the United States and China have also reached an understanding that will allow the sale of TikTok.
The threat of imposing 100% tariffs on Chinese goods has been “ruled out” following trade talks with Chinese counterparts, the Treasury Secretary explained.
After two days of negotiations in Malaysia, the Chinese delegation also confirmed that a “basic consensus” had been reached, easing tensions ahead of next week’s highly anticipated meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
