Porsche, Telekom prepare joint investment in defense sector
Porsche and Telekom are preparing a joint investment in the defense sector, according to Bloomberg, with the news picked up by several German media outlets, CE Report quotes ANSA.
The investment is expected to total €500 million, managed by Digital Transformation Capital Partners (DTCP), originally a Telekom-affiliated company.
The first step would be to create a platform for investing in defense companies focused on satellite surveillance, reconnaissance, sensor systems, and cybersecurity.
In addition to Bloomberg’s sources, Porsche SE itself confirmed — while presenting its H1 2025 results — that it plans to move forward with diversifying its business operations. “We have been following the themes of defense, security, and European resilience for some time,” said Hans Dieter Poetsch, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Porsche SE.
This move also aims to respond to the drop in 2025 profits, which were nearly halved compared to 2024.
Porsche SE is a holding company managing investments in the automotive industry, including majority ownership in Volkswagen and 25% of Porsche AG.
