Bulgaria Adopts National Medium-Term Fiscal Plan for 2025-2028
The Bulgarian government has approved the national medium-term fiscal-structural plan (MTP) for 2025-2028, the press service announced on Wednesday, CE Report quotes BTA
The plan aligns with the reformed 2024 Stability and Growth Pact (SGP), replacing the need for a Convergence Programme and a National Reform Programme. It outlines Bulgaria's fiscal policy, structural reforms, and investment priorities to ensure financial stability and sustainable growth.
Addressing key EU Council recommendations from 2019-2024, the plan supports Bulgaria’s Recovery and Resilience Plan and the EU's goals for green and digital transitions, social and economic sustainability, and energy security. Fiscal policy will focus on keeping the deficit below 3% of GDP and debt under 60% of GDP while maintaining budget stability in line with Bulgaria's euro area ambitions.
On February 19, the Finance Ministry published the 2025 State Budget Bill and the Medium-Term Budget Forecast for 2025-2028.
