South Korea rules against Google, Apple

South Korea’s media regulator has concluded that US-based technology companies Google and Apple violated the country’s telecommunications rules by abusing their dominant positions in their respective app markets.

According to Yonhap, the Korea Communications Commission announced its decision regarding Google and Apple during a regular meeting, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

Following its investigation, the Commission determined that Google and Apple had abused their dominant positions in their respective app markets, thereby violating South Korea’s telecommunications regulations.

The Commission will determine the level of sanctions to be imposed on the two US technology giants at a later date.
