U.S. tech giant Google is expected to invest $10 billion in AI startup Anthropic, with the possibility of an additional $30 billion investment to follow.

According to Bloomberg, Anthropic stated that Google has committed to the $10 billion investment in cash, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

The report noted that Alphabet Inc.-owned Google may provide an additional $30 billion if Anthropic meets performance targets, supporting a major expansion of the startup’s computing capacity.

Anthropic has reportedly accelerated its fundraising efforts following the success of its AI tool Claude Code, which helps speed up software development processes.

The report also recalled that Anthropic recently secured an additional $5 billion in funding from Amazon and announced a long-term option for up to $20 billion in further investment.

Additionally, Google Cloud is expected to provide Anthropic with 5 gigawatts of computing capacity over the next five years, with the possibility of several more gigawatts to follow.

Google confirmed Bloomberg’s report but did not provide further details about the investment.
