Apple challenges EU tech rules in formal request

Tech & Science

Apple has asked the European Union to repeal the Digital Markets Act (DMA), the law that came into force last year aimed at ending abuses of dominant position by tech giants, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The American company, which has opposed the regulation from the beginning, argues that it has led to a degradation of services provided to users and exposed them to risks from which they were previously protected.

"The DMA should be repealed and, at the same time, a more appropriate legislative tool should be adopted," Apple stated in a formal communication to the European Commission.
