AI Startup Wants to Buy Google’s Chrome

The artificial intelligence startup Perplexity has offered $34.5 billion to buy Chrome, Google’s web browser, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The offered price is higher than Perplexity’s own valuation, but the startup stated that several investors are ready to support the deal.

Judge Amit Mehta is currently considering whether to force Google to sell its browser, after determining that Mountain View holds a monopoly in the online search market. Mehta is expected to decide in the coming weeks how to address the issue and restore competition.
