Real Madrid pushes Mourinho to increase Diomande’s role

Real Madrid has reportedly asked head coach Jose Mourinho to give 19-year-old talent Yan Diomande more playing time.

The youngster has played just 292 minutes this season and has started only two matches. Despite the significant fee paid for his transfer, Mourinho has opted not to immediately place major responsibility on Diomande, instead preferring to integrate him gradually into the team, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Diomande has impressed with his recent performances, completing four successful dribbles, winning nine of his 12 duels and recording a 90% pass completion rate.

His performances have made him a genuine alternative to Vinicius on the left wing. With the Brazilian struggling to find consistency in his form, the 19-year-old could provide Mourinho with another option for squad rotation.

It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will increase Diomande’s playing time. His recent performances, particularly against Atletico Madrid, appear to have given the club reason to push for a bigger role for the youngster.
