Pop star Mariah Carey will perform a song in Italian at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Carey, a five-time Grammy winner, confirmed her participation in the opening ceremony last month, while organizers will also welcome a series of other high-profile guests at the event on 6 February.

In addition to Carey, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and singer Laura Pausini will perform, CE Report quotes ATA.

Other guests include actors Pierfrancesco Favino, Sabrina Impacciatore, and Matilda De Angelis.

Under the motto “Harmony,” the opening ceremony will take place across four different locations of the Games. The heart of the show will be San Siro Stadium in Milan.

However, simultaneous ceremonies will also be held in Predazzo, Livigno, and Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The Olympic flame will burn in two cauldrons at separate locations: Arco della Pace in central Milan and Piazza Angelo Dibona in Cortina.

The design of the cauldron pays tribute to Leonardo da Vinci and evokes his famous knots, the line patterns found in his paintings.

From 7 February until the extinguishing of the Olympic flame on 22 February, the cauldron at Arco della Pace in Milan will be the centerpiece of a daily event.

Each show will last between three and five minutes and will take place hourly from 17:00 to 23:00.
