All you need to know ahead of 2025 Ballon d'Or

Tonight in Paris, the winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or will be revealed, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The prestigious ceremony will take place at the “Théâtre du Châtelet” starting at 8:00 p.m., while the identity of the victor remains secret and is known only to one person – the editor-in-chief of France Football, Vincent Garcia.

Following the new rule introduced last year, there are no longer any early leaks about the winner. Thirty candidates are in the running, but two names are seen as the main favorites: PSG’s Ousmane Dembélé and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.

The Frenchman, who last season won the treble with the Parisian club, is considered to have a slight edge. However, many believe that the talented teenager Yamal could take the trophy thanks to his outstanding performances with Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

This year, the award is based on performance over a full season rather than the calendar year, with emphasis on individual contribution, talent, and sportsmanship.

Tonight’s ceremony will be hosted by Ronaldinho, who will also have the honor of handing the trophy to the winner. In addition to the Ballon d’Or, prizes will be awarded for Best Goalkeeper, Best Goalscorer, and Best Young Player.
